Liberal Media Puts A Damper on Holiday Celebrations

We're staying at home tonight. If you read any of the headlines, people are not going out because of the "economy". I think a lot of our problem is the media, making everyone think that we're not doing certain things because of the "economy" and inevitably this repeated pounding of negativity has everyone believing the worst.

I'd like to have the media focus something positive for once. I know I spent quite a bit of money this holiday season. I also know the parking lots at all of the places I went were FULL! The malls were packed, and people actually seemed pretty friendly. Most of the people I know have money but are scared to spend it, because they're afraid the worst is going to happen.

My 2008 wasn't that bad, but thanks to the media, I'm not looking forward to 2009. My goal for 2009 is to buy more items locally (made in the USA). Support the people at home who need it. Except for the liberal media. They're on their own.

Cat Christmas

It's official, our cats still seem to remember what a Christmas stocking is! Not only do they dig into the fish shaped stocking to get their toys from Santa, but they have a blast playing with them!

The flying mouse above was flung off of our cat's razor sharp claws and then repeatedly attacked. It was so much fun to watch them play!

The black cat loved to play with his new "pipie" (pipe cleaner) until he discovered the packet of cat treats. He punctured the bag, and couldn't resist the yummy chicken smell, and opened the bag right up! It was rather impressive.

They are now both resting, and watching us try out our new Wii Games. It seems Santa was in the toy mode this year.

It's sometimes hard hearing all about everyone's plans with their kids and family for the holidays. I'm so happy we have cats that get into the spirit.

They not only get excited about their stockings but don't have major melt downs after they're done playing. (And they never seem disappointed with their gifts!)

I was searching for a doll for my niece, and came upon this site~



Lovingly referred to as Reb0rns, these babies are amazingly life-like. In fact upon further searching, I learned that some artists create reb0rns with open noses to make them "breathe" while others create ones with heartbeats! It's almost eerie!

Online Shopping

I've decided to beat the holiday crowds and did my shopping online this year. :-) It beats the screaming kids and parents that trample you. I can't even watch a Wallyworld commercial without thinking about the poor worker that was trampled on black Friday. The mob scene is too scary! It's much nicer to surf the web and order our gifts by the fireplace.

We broke out the kitty Christmas toys when we decorated the tree, and they LOVE them! The female growls with her little mouse and doesn't want to share at all. I'm not sure what Santa's bringing them this year... spoiled things!

I'm not sure what we'll do for our gifts. We need to re-do our "master" bathroom. (Which is smaller than the shared bathroom, so calling it a master bath is truly a joke.) I'm thinking a nice spa-like shower and modern streamlined cabinets.

We'll see how it goes...

Sleepy salutations

When sending out our holiday cards, our cat insisted on being a part of the action. He snuggled right up beside me and plopped down on a set of cards.

I moved the cards, and he settled in for a cat nap. He slept beside me on the couch the entire afternoon while I wrote out our cards.

What a helper! The nice part is, I did manage to get all of our cards out by Dec 2nd. (It would have been earlier but I ran out of Christmas stamps.)

Now if only he could help me with my Christmas shopping!
