Life with a Cat...

My Aunt sent me this via email. Whoever created this definitely owns a cat! From the toys under the bed to their persistence. This pretty much sums up our mornings--except ours is x 2.

Bum knee

I am at home in bed with a bum knee. It's been bothering me ever since my birthday (for about a week) and has gotten progressively worse. It's now at the point where it hurts to put any weight on it, and even bending it is problematic. Sitting is hard, getting up is hard, showering is hard, and walking is even harder. It almost feels like the pain I had with Rheumatic fever, however that was in both knees, and it got to the point that I couldn't get up without help.

The knee is a bit swollen, however I don't think I have Rheumatic fever again. At least I hope I don't! I have a Dr's apt this afternoon, so we'll see what they say. It's pretty sad that I got a bum knee for my birthday. Hopefully they'll figure out what's wrong.

--Update--4:00 PM
The Dr says I have bursitis. I feel so old!

Two years and counting

Well, today is my two year anniversary blogging. It's hard to believe it's been that long! To celebrate, I'm off to have a glass of wine and play with my Lobster cat.

The Boys...

We were watching SciFi Friday and I snapped this photo. This pretty much confirms that our black cat is a male. He was quite comfortable kicking back watching TV with his best friend.

We spent today fall cleaning before we shut the house down for the winter rains. Now we just need to decorate for Halloween and we'll be set. We already have a costume for the black cat. It looks SO funny! Tim picked it out--I was a bit sceptical, but it's hilarious! I'll be posing a picture of him soon...

Fat and F0lgard

I have one more personal training session. (I bought a block of 56.) I've decided not to re-enroll at the gym, as although I really liked some of my trainers, I just didn't get the results I wanted. After working out 3x a week since May, I have gained 11 pounds--and not all of it was muscle. The sad part is it's not like I eat junk food, tons of butter, and sweets all the time either, then at least I'd have an excuse.

I am looking into another personal training facility and we'll see how it goes. This one I don't have to pay $$$$ months in advance. It is close to my work, and I get one personal trainer, instead of never knowing who I'll get. It also has a massage area which from the web-site looks like a spa.

On the fertility front, I picked up my latest prescription, some Folgard (essentially mega B-vitamins and Folate) which the nurse says I need to take even though my h0mocystine level is normal. It was almost $50 for 60 pills. Not the most expensive medication I've taken in the hopes of having a child, but it never makes it easy when even the pharmacist flinches at the cost. Things are slowly progressing on the infertility front. I still need to take the Chicag0 tests and then will find out what the next step is.

It's a bird, it's a plane... it's a h0g!

Tim got the coolest toy for his birthday. (thanks Mark) It's an Air H0g RC helic0pter--the best part is it's small (and quiet) enough to fly in the house! (It’s going in the photos, but you can’t tell because the camera “stops” the blades.)

The cats think it's a bird! They like to try and bat it out of the air, and if it stops they'll charge it if you're not careful. We learned the cat's are very good hunters! I was tempting the black cat and he quickly snatched it out of the air with his claws and slammed it into the hardwood floor right onto one of the blades. (Which actually broke!) Luckily, it comes with four extra blades, so we weren't out of business for long. All in all, it's not only a great boy toy, but a cool cat t0y as well, and a good way to unwind after a long day/week at work.
Other than the purchase of new cell phones. (I LOVE having a touch screen, and getting music and mail on my phone! How did I live without it!) That's pretty much the excitement in our lives since Oct started. I plan on dressing the cats up for Halloween, so I am sure there will be some excitement there! I'm thinking a "Pepe le Pew skunk" and "princess" or "tinkerbell" cat. (Can you guess which will be which?)
