Valentine's Weekend

Dubbed as another Hallmark holiday, I actually disagree and enjoy Valentine's day. I like the idea of taking a day out of the year to appreciate the ones you love. I love sending cards and getting things in the mail, however you don't HAVE to buy a card. Just doing something is fun, it's a great excuse to break up the winter snow/rain blues.

My Dad (and Mom) always send us flowers on Valentine's Day. Every year it's something different, and often a new florist. This year the florist required a signature, and lucky for us we were one of their first stops. So around 8:00 am we were jolted awake by multiple rings of the doorbell and some major pounding. (We figured it was the neighbor who is also very instant and an early riser.) I groggily answered the door, and signed for the arrangement and a little pink bag.

I took the bag off, and discovered it was a bag of toys for the kitties. :-) (Last year Dad tried to send something for the kitties, but we got a toy that was a stuffed cat.)

The cats KNEW the bag was for them. It must have smelled like catnip. They played with everything in the bag,
including the crinkle paper. It was quite cute.

The flowers are gorgeous, and ironically were similar to the
ones Tim sent me at work. Fragrant white lilies and deep ruby red roses. They are breathtaking and I hope that the cats will stay occupied with their toys and leave our pretty plants alone.
