The Year We Make C0ntact

We had a low-key celebration at home last night, drinking some K0rbel Natural and watching "2010: The Year we Make C0ntact". It was fun to see what 'we' thought the world might be in 2010 from a 1984 perspective.

We followed this with "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" another classic. I had never seen this black and white feature from 1964, and enjoyed the dark comedy quite a bit. :-) I discovered that my uncle must like Peter Sellers as he does a pretty darn good imitation.

We listened to the neighbors shoot off some loud firecrackers and were in bed by 1:30 am. We haven't actually stayed up to ring in a New Year for awhile, and it was quite nice. We even made it out to see the blue moon.

I'm glad we still have the long weekend to unwind before going back to work on Monday. It's a great way to start off the new year!
