Turkey Time

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends Walter and Emma and their wee boys. The day started out cloudy, however the sun managed to make it's appearance around noon. (which boded well since we were cooking the turkey outside)

We cooked for a crowd and had plenty of leftovers! The turkey turned out quite dark this year, but was delicious! Tim LOVES to cook the turkey in oil, and it's amazingly good!

Since we can't stuff a deep fried bird, we cook the stuffing in a crock pot. It came out wonderful; there were mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, green beans casserole, an orange cranberry dish with jalapenos, and Emma's special chutney. We did purchase "take and bake" bread, and a yummy fruit tart, but the rest was made from scratch.

Dessert was in honor of my Grandmother, (who always brought the pies to Thanksgiving) so I made two home-made pies: pecan and pumpkin. They were both delish, however I have a special fondness for pecan. (Especially since it was still a bit warm while we were eating it.) MMM

The sad part is, we were so busy eating that we didn't even open all of the yummy drinks that W&E brought!
