Ever since we moved in I've wanted to paint our kitchen. The color was OK, but it clashed with the sage colored hallway, and seemed dirty in sections. (Not to mention the green paint underneath was showing in some areas.) I painted the ceiling and trim months ago, and last weekend decided I'd better get the rest painted

before the rainy season hit in full force and it would be too moist and miserable for painting.
I started with a light base coat last Sunday, and then had to wait until this weekend to finish it. I decided to sponge it using two complimentary

glaze
s, and think it turned out quite well for my first faux attempt. :-) The funny thing was, when drying it looked orange, and caused me to panic slightly at the thought of trying to tone it down. Luckily 24 hours of cure time brings out the yellow base, and it looks amazing! (The second picture is about 5 hours in, and is starting to turn.) It seems much warmer and inviting now, and I absolutely love it!
