Our apple tree did quite well this year, and had TONS of apples! We gave away quite a few bags to friends and neighbors, and we still had plenty, so I ended up making some pie out of them.
The pie shown here was created when we had our friends W & E over with their two wee boys. The lattice got a little messed up, so I put a little spider on it. (top left)

The apples are a bit tart, so I drizzled the pie with a sugary caramel like sauce. It looked really good while baking! (and smelled even better!)
The final product had a nice crispy crust (thanks to the caramel drizzle and my Grandma's easy crust recipe).

Although the spider isn't very noticeable, overall, I was quite pleased with the results. The pie practically disappeared it was so good! We still have about 2-1/2 bags of apples left, so I'll be able to practice my lattice work on a few more!
I think after that the lemons will be ready and I'll have to try my luck at a lemon pie!
