Seeking Counsel

I spoke with my RE's office yesterday. I have another test to take now to measure how much h0m0cystine is in my system. I can't take any supplements 24 hours before the testing in order to have a relatively accurate reading. Unfortunately I will still be taking the metf0rmin, which can affect Folate and B12 absorption as well. I'm sure they have some way of knowing what's what.

On the plus side, they reduced my metf0rmin to 1/day in the hopes I won't be so tired, and so my GI tract gets back to normal. Hopefully that will help, especially since my Dr recommended taking F0lgard to improve my vitamin absorption, and one of its main side effects is drowsiness and diarrhea. Oh the joys of medications. If we do another cycle of IVF, I will need to add an additional sub-cue shot to the mix up through the first trimester, but we'll see what the other tests say first.

On Friday I have a phone consult with a genetic councilor. I sent in my family history and 3-generation tree to get the process started. (Way easy since I've traced most of my family MUCH farther than 3 generations, and I didn't need to list names just the relationship, children, and any known medical issues.) This based on the other tests I've done should give us an idea of what else we might need to watch for, as well as help indicate if there are any additional tests we should have. I'm really interested in learning more, as I've always been fascinated with genealogy. Tim, not so much, so I will be having the meeting alone. Hopefully it will prove to be enlightening.
