Testing

I received my packet listing the additional tests I will need to take. As well as a protocol for our next IVF cycle if we decide to go that route. In addition to some thyroid tests to see how I'm responding to the medication, I also have some clotting tests to take, some immunological testing, as well as some speciality tests that will be sent to a lab in Chicago. These are related to the Natural Killer cells and Anti-ph0sph0lipid antibodies. The Chicago tests are relatively expensive but I am interested in seeing if immunology could be our problem.

I still hope the thyroid medications will be all I need. Tim thinks I'm putting a lot of trust in the medication. It's true, I would be so happy if that's all it took for us to get pregnant, especially after trying for so long. My new Doctor said that we should give the medication a few months to see if it works. The tests above should also shed some light on things.

If we go ahead with another round of IVF, the protocol is a lot different than my previous cycle. I will have to take birth c0ntr0l pills to regulate my cycle first, and then of course the shots, then after retrieval the progesterone is an IM shot! This would have to be taken every day for weeks. Long story short, I really hope the thyroid medications work!
