I have to go to the dentist tomorrow. (Tim's going with me for his appointment too.) I'm sure it's something almost everyone dreads at some level. I remember my first cavity as if it was yesterday. I was so sad, my healthy teeth had a hole! I was pretty young, and the dentist didn't explain that he'd be sticking a VERY large needle into my gum, just something to the effect that "this is going to sting a little". In all honesty I don't remember his exact words. What I do remember is seeing this ENORMOUS needle heading towards my open mouth. I said "No!" and put my hand up to block the needle. This resulted in the DR injecting Novocain in my thumb! I immediately started bawling and my mom heard me all the way in the lobby. I was too hysterical to have any work done, so the appointment was re-scheduled. I had a huge lecture before my next appointment that there would be no crying and no re-scheduling, and I did ok, but I still hate going to the dentist.
