Kitten Krazy
Well, I found out the kitten I like is going to be around $4k. (The breed I like is somewhat rare.) It's still a lot of money for a kitten. (Part of the problem is my desire for a girl--the males are infertile for the first 4-5 generations.) The breeder seems very responsible and knowledgeable which is a HUGE plus.
I found another very sweet looking kitten for around $1k, but the breeder seemed HORRIBLE! She wouldn't provide pedigree information and became defensive when I asked for current photos, information on the parents, and how the kittens were raised. She pretty much raised every red flag possible.
I know I could adopt a stray from the "pound", but the breed I want doesn't show up in the pound very often, if at all. So I'm weighing my options. Tim is a bit worried that I have transferred my baby focus onto a cat. Guess I should evaluate that too.

What's wrong with transferring your baby focus to getting a cat? If adoption isn't a possibility for you and ART so far hasn't been successful, I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to have something you can love and care for.
You want to be a momma. Why not to a kitten?
