A G0dm0ther

Well, I am now a G0dm0ther. I cried when my brother asked, and had to think about it for awhile, since there's a possibility we may never have kids of our own, and I know that at times this could make it difficult emotionally. At the same time, I'm honored they chose me, as I am not close to them geographically, and it's quite the responsibility if taken seriously, which of course I do. My only hope is that I do a good job across the miles.

The baptism will be sometime next month. The research I've done suggests that, in addition to the regular G0dm0ther duties, I am to select the christening gown. So I started looking into it tonight. There are some GORGEOUS ones out there! From ornate (as in photo) to knit or a more simplified satin. Of course I need to verify with my sister-in-law to make sure she doesn't have one already, and to see what type / style she likes. I would have a very hard time choosing otherwise. I liked the flower print on this one, and the fact it had longer sleeves and a shawl. It reminds me of something my Grandmother might have had.

--Update-- I just talked to my Brother and learned that they are getting my Grandmother's christening dress! How sweet is that!?!
