Saturday sticks & shots

The stick tripped on Saturday, a few days earlier than the clinic estimated. So we drove into the city to confirm that the stick was indeed correct. (It was)

The appointment was the same as always. According to my RE everything looks great, nice follicle on the right, nice lining, etc... This is beginning to get old, since obviously everything is not great or I wouldn't be at a fertility clinic.

Tim was in rare form all morning. We're both frustrated that things haven't worked. Which is why neither of us are putting any weight on this cycle. I'm tired of staying positive, focusing on a pregnancy that never takes, and then having Tim deal with the flood of emotions that always follows. He's completely immune to crying at this point. The other day we were out for Thai food, and the waiter sat a woman and her adorable Grandmother down next to us, and I started to cry. Tim said "if the waiter asks, just say you are crying because our food is taking too long to arrive". (We wouldn't of course, and the waiter didn't ask anyway.) Poor Tim.

Needless to say with everything else that has been going on, we're both tired of the whole process, and are just going through the motions. Tim is just looking forward to getting this cycle over with. If it doesn't work, we can focus on getting our refund. (It won't be the whole amount, but a decent percentage that could go towards a much needed vacation or a more reliable car.) --This does not mean I'll be doing anything to jeopardize the transfer or Han Solo, however I'm not going to get on the "happily trying to get pregnant bandwagon" this time either.

So we continued on. We had our frozen embryo transfer paperwork notarized, and I signed the authorization to thaw Han S0l0 for transfer next week, and asked the obvious... "Will the office call me to let me know if it doesn't thaw well so I won't have to come in?" My RE seemed surprised, and said that there's only a 10% chance it won't thaw, and yes they will call if it doesn't, but plan on coming in. They filled out a timeline for next week, and sent us on our way with the instructions to make sure Tim gives me the hCG shot and that they'll call next week to schedule the transfer. Oh the joys.
