Powerful penne...

Everyone is fighting a cold/flu lately, and I feel crappy as well. Hopefully I'm not getting anything! Blech... It's stormy too, tons of cold wind and rain, which doesn't help.

I could be feeling sick from the penne pasta with vodka cream sauce I made on Saturday. I followed the directions (mostly) except I used 3-1/2-cups of my homemade eggplant marinara sauce, which seemed to soak up the 1-1/4 cups of Stoli vodka. Cooking it down ¼ of the way and then adding 2/3-cup of cream was supposed to lessen the affect of the vodka, but it didn't seem to do the trick either. It was a great dish if you like to drink your dinner. Every forkful was an inhalation of vodka, and the cream sauce was quite rich. Hilarious really! Poor Tim, all he could say was "Well, you have to try new things once and awhile." He's such a good husband to put up with me. He didn’t feel sick after eating it, so perhaps it’s not the pasta and I’m just fighting a bug. The vodka probably killed whatever bug was trying to make me sick, and I'm just fighting off the last of it.

No news on the BMP. The other day Tim mentioned that I might want to think about at what age I should start getting rid of any baby things I have. (Well-intentioned family members have created wooden cradles and sleds, crocheted hats and blankets, etc. over the years, and I have bought/saved a few clothing pieces I thought were just too precious to pass up.) I guess someone he was talking to said that she got rid of everything when she turned 40 and wasn't married. Oh the things to look forward to!

Hopefully acupuncture will work on getting my kidney-yang in line, and this won’t become an issue. Otherwise I have to decide if I want to do a cycle of IVF before I completely give up trying. We’ll see…
